The Drive By Press Printmaking is a two-week workshop that focuses on advanced techniques and practices in all printmaking disciplines.
Instructors Joseph Valasquez and Greg Nanny developed the workshop as a forum to share with students some of the insider knowledge and unique methods they’ve gleaned from visiting hundreds of professional and academic printshops during their five-plus years of touring with Drive By Press.
Workshop participants spend two weeks focusing on self-defined projects under the guidance of professional print artists. Each day begins with technical demonstrations and lectures and concludes with open work sessions, in which students spread out to work on their projects. Instructors focus on giving individual attention o each workshop participant and customize the specifics of their teaching to match the needs of the students in attendance.
Visits by numerous guest artists and an ongoing, ever-evolving, public exhibition of work being made during the workshop round out the experience.
If you’re serious about taking you printmaking practice to the next level, this is the workshop for you!
OU Academic Credit
Students have the option of receiving up to three credits per session of transferable academic credit through the University of Oklahoma in the areas of printmaking, artist books, and graphic design. The cost for credit is NOT included in the basic workshop fees. This will be a separate transaction with OU, and Drive By Press does not receive any of this tuition money.
